Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about lubricants
You should choose oil that meets the viscosity grade (e.g., 5W-30) and API/ACEA standards specified in your vehicle's owner manual. Your vehicle's brand, model, engine type, and usage conditions also affect the choice. If unsure, you can consult our expert team via WhatsApp.
Mineral oils should be changed every 5,000-7,500 km, semi-synthetics every 7,500-10,000 km, and fully synthetics every 10,000-15,000 km. These intervals may shorten under harsh conditions such as short city driving, extreme temperatures, and heavy load carrying.
Mineral oil is refined from crude petroleum, while synthetic oil is chemically synthesized in laboratory conditions. Synthetic oils provide longer drain intervals, better cold flow, more stable viscosity at high temperatures, and superior engine protection. Mineral oils are more affordable and may be preferred for older engines.
API (American Petroleum Institute) is the American standard, and ACEA (European Automobile Manufacturers Association) is the European automotive standard. API SP/SN are the latest standards for gasoline engines, CK-4/CI-4 for diesel engines. ACEA A3/B4 is for high-performance engines, and C3 is suitable for vehicles with DPF filters. These standards guarantee oil quality and compatibility.
The "W" stands for Winter. The first number (e.g., 5W) indicates cold flow, and the second number (e.g., 30) indicates thickness at operating temperature. A lower W number means easier cold starting. The higher the second number, the thicker the oil film. Choosing the right viscosity grade based on your vehicle's needs is important.
Motor oil should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The cap should be kept tightly closed to prevent moisture and dust entry. Ideal storage temperature is between 5-35°C. Unopened oils can generally be used for up to 5 years.
Oils meeting the same API/ACEA standard and viscosity grade can technically be mixed, but this is not recommended. Different brands' additive packages may not be fully compatible. Topping up is acceptable in emergencies, but a full oil change should be done as soon as possible.
No. GMX Power oils meet international API, ACEA, and many OEM standards. Using oil that meets the standards required by your vehicle manufacturer does not affect the vehicle warranty. You can check the approval and standard information on our product packaging.
Vehicles with DPF filters require low SAPS (Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus, Sulphur) formulated oils. Our ACEA C3 approved products like GMX Power 5W-30 C3 Fully Synthetic are DPF compatible. Using incorrect oil can cause DPF filter clogging and expensive repairs.
GMX Power lubricants are manufactured in our modern production facilities in Türkiye, in compliance with ISO standards. Every batch of product is tested in accredited laboratories to ensure quality assurance. Our products are exported to more than 20 countries.
